For the last 3 weeks I have had the pleasure of working out with the 5:30am group here at World Camp. Everyday I wake up with a little pep in my step knowing that I will not only get my workout over with, but do so along side the hardest working people even up at that time of day! I would like to take this time to personally thank you, 5:30am group for helping me start my day off right!

Are you tired of defending the place and the style of your workout? Time to time the occasional topic of conversation will arise about how, “I was at the grocery store and this person saw my t-shirt and blah, blah, blah.” “They said that we train too hard and warned me to be careful because everyone gets hurt” and so on.. Why do we feel the need to defend our community and the method in which we choose to find fitness? I know that we all love this place and believe in what it is we stand for but look, give it a break! You know it works! Look at you! Look what you can do now versus where you were a month ago! Ladies, how many pull ups can you do now when not long ago you chuckled when I told you that you would be doing them one day? Not to mention how many compliments you get when you bust out a new dress for the PTO… If a man tells you that he does P90X, do you poke fun at him because he does “Man Aerobics” to a video in his living room? No, maybe he likes that kind of thing! Just like you like to do what we do. There is a reason that the classes are getting crowded and our little community here is not so little anymore. So, before you get into another argument about the true path to fitness, just realize that “limitations are for those that have them and excuses are for those that need them.” Chances are, if you had to do that much convincing, you wouldn’t want that person in here anyway… Just a thought.

Just a reminder, Shelby will be starting up “World Camp 101″ Monday, August 15th! If you have wanted to start your workout regimen in a smaller, more one-on-one class setting with other beginners, this class is for you! “World Camp 101″ will be held Monday thru Thursday at 9am for the next 4 weeks. See you then!
