Happy Monday everyone! I hope that you all had a great weekend and are ready to jump into this week with both feet! If you are planning on volunteering for the Throwdown this year, please sign up on the front board in the gym ASAP! I need to get numbers turned in to Eric at the Garage so you can get your SWAG (Stuff We All Get- Michael Scott). The Throwdown is a 2 day event, if you are only able to help out on one day, please make note beside your name.
We are excited to announce the return of the 7pm class Monday- Thursday starting October 3rd! This class is being brought in to take a little stress off of the other evening classes and to allow for more training time in the facility! Level 1 Certified trainer and competitor Billy Goodson (shown above) will be running this particular group. If you are interested in jumping this group, we look forward to seeing you here at 7pm on October 3rd!

As most of you know, this will be the 2nd year for “The South Georgia THROWDOWN!” Last year was a huge success as many of the regions best athletes traveled to Albany to compete. This year already has the makings of being a much bigger and better event! After long, sleepless nights of where this year’s THROWDOWN will be held, I have finally decided on having it right here at WCCF. I am very excited to make this announcement because this will allow for more thought to go into the WODs and to provide that “CrossFit” games feel that we have all come to love. By the time everyone arrives Friday, Oct. 21st for the “meet and greet” both an outdoor and indoor pull up rig will be assembled complete with Wall Ball targets and possibly rings! We keep roughly 6,000 lbs. of bumbers in the gym at all times and 40+ Olympic bars that will be used as well as enough sleds, stones, Kettle Bells and GHDs to provide for large heats! We are pulling out all the toys to give you, the competitor, the best experience possible! In continuance with last year, the THROWDOWN will be a spectator’s event as well! You will be able to get right up in the action to see the athletes and feel the energy that is produced during the WODs! All of us here at World Camp CrossFit are super excited about this years event and look forward to seeing you all here October 22-23rd!
There are some BIG things headed this way in the near future, one of which is “The South Georgia THROWDOWN!” This will be the second year that the event will be held on October 22-23rd and we are expecting a record turnout. Last year was a blast for both competitors and spectators and this year will be no different. This year we have more toys to play with and more space to utilize. We are also adding a new “Masters” category this year to go along with the RX, Scaled and Team competition! To sign up as a competitor, go to the Garage Games site and register. There will be no cost to be a spectator at the THROWDOWN, so be sure to come cheer on those competing that weekend.
Congratulations and a GREAT JOB to Brandy and Cristy for their showing at the Faction Games this past weekend! Brandi took sole possession of 2nd while Cristy was just 1 point shy of third! Great job you two!
I hope that everyone had a great Labor Day and is ready to get back on track this week. I had the chance to go down and visit with Andrea McCoy at Panama City Beach CrossFit and put on an O-lift seminar, that place is coming together nicely! I am very proud of you Andrea, keep up the good work! Huge thanks to Sam, Rio and Joy for helping out with the class!
There will no class on Saturday or Monday in observance of Labor Day! We will be right back here Tuesday at regular hours. Be safe this weekend!
